The team of the Infrared beamline IRIS at BESSY II is hosting a colloquium focused on the development and future directions of infrared (IR) spectroscopy at synchrotron radiation facilities, in anticipation of the currently planned 4th generation facility BESSY III at HZB.
Leading experts in the field will offer insights into the historical development of IR radiation, the application of far-IR and THz synchrotron radiation in material science, advances in life science spectroscopy, and novel near-field methods providing nanometer spatial resolution IR spectroscopy. The colloquium will also cover the current state-of-the-art of infrared spectroscopy at 4th generation synchrotron radiation facilities.
Following this event, which will also honor Dr. Ulrich Schade for his numerous contributions to synchrotron radiation based IR spectroscopy on the occasion of his retirement, a reception will be held in the foyer of the BESSY auditorium.
