As part of the ongoing debate about a possible renaming of the Erwin Schrödinger Center at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, the question has repeatedly arisen as to whether and to what extent the serious accusations are justified at all. So far, the discussion has suffered from a very uncertain factual situation, partly because important sources from Schrödinger's estate are not generally accessible.
In this information event, Dr. Dr. Magdalena Gronau (ZfL) and Martin Gronau (ZfL) will present and evaluate previously unconsidered sources (including Schrödinger's diaries, known as ephemerides, and letters from the women concerned). The aim is to make a contribution to objectifying the heated debate in the media.
The chemist and literary scholar Magdalena Gronau is a Volkswagen Foundation “Freigeist” Fellow. Together with the classical historian Martin Gronau she is working on the project The Philology of the Physicists. Textual Knowledge and Practices within the Academic Culture of Quantum Physics.
An event in cooperation with the Leibniz-Zentrum für Literatur- und Kulturforschung (ZfL). Lecture and talk in German.
