New headquarters: Jonas & Redmann is investing 25 million euros in Adlershof Technology Park
Berlin-based mechanical engineering firm builds new company building on 23,000 m² site in record time / Company moves into the production halls in July
Jonas & Redmann is building a new company headquarters in Johannisthal, an urban district in the Berlin borough of Treptow-Köpenick. The new production and office space is located on a 23,000 square-metre site at Adlershof Technology Park. Production in the new halls starts in July.
Jonas & Redmann is investing 25 million euros in a new company headquarters with production halls. Across 23,000 square metres, the Berlin-based company is thus creating the ideal prerequisites for optimally linking development and engineering with the company’s production areas. The production and assembly of machines in the new halls will start in July. The office building will be completed and occupied in early autumn.
The newly constructed buildings are tailored in every respect to the requirements of industrial production and to the fact that more than 400 employees will work there every working day. The building owners, Stefan Jonas and Lutz Redmann, are creating a complete infrastructure. The production halls and the administration building are supplemented, for example, by a multi-storey car park, secure and covered bike storage boxes as well as charging stations for electric vehicles.
Lutz Redmann, Co-Managing Director of Jonas & Redmann Group GmbH: “In hightech industries, Jonas & Redmann stands for perfectly dovetailed, fully automated processes. In future, our work processes will run just as smoothly as our machines. We will develop and produce our technologies more efficiently. This will benefit both our employees and our clients.”
The buildings are designed to achieve high energy efficiency and sustainability standards – heating is provided by district heating from efficient combined heat and power generation, the electricity consumed is consistently green, i.e. is obtained from renewable energy sources, and intensive greening of the large hall and office roofs makes an additional contribution to the positive ecological balance.
The aim is to continue securing the future of the family business for the next generation. By building its own company and production facilities, the company will no longer be dependent on Berlin’s very dynamic real estate market.
A plus point is the location itself. Jonas & Redmann generates a significant proportion of its sales outside Germany, and it does this in research- and development-intensive industries. With a view to the machine manufacturer’s international high-tech business, the new company address on Segelfliegerdamm offers excellent conditions. The Berlin Brandenburg Airport Region, with Adlershof Technology Park and other technology clusters, is one of the most developing economic areas in Europe. With the Berlin Brandenburg “Willy Brandt” Airport (BER), a European air traffic hub is also being created in the immediate vicinity of the new company headquarters.
Stefan Jonas, Co-Managing Director of Jonas & Redmann Group GmbH: “We’ve opted for a company location with a promising future. And the working environment for our skilled personnel will completely improve right from day one. The offices are bright and much more spacious. Communication problems due to large spatial distances will no longer exist in future. Personally, I’m particularly delighted that in future a company cafeteria will be available to our team that has a large, green outdoor area. Meeting there and spending breaks together will instil new energy, especially during stressful phases.”
