Adlershof Accelerator Smart City 2018 kicks off with a Pitching Day
Participants presented innovative ideas for energy, smart buildings, communication, IT, and security
Fifteen teams got together for the A² Accelerator Smart City pitch at Forum Adlershof on 12 June 2018. Their goal was to put their ideas out to the innovation scouts as well as representatives of the industry and technology networks and convince them to jointly implement pilot projects. The strong interest of industrial partners was underlined by the numerous individual conversations between them and the start-ups. The following four weeks will show which project agreements will crystallise and which team will enter the A² Smart City programme.
The main focus of the third Adlershof Accelerator of WISTA-MANAGEMENT GMBH is on developing solutions for the challenges confronting smart cities. The industrial partners in this round include Alliander AG, Berliner Wasserbetriebe, Aareal Bank Gruppe, and MVV Energie AG. The two industry associations bne Association of Energy Market Innovators and ZVEI - German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association are this round’s so-called network partners. During the five-month A² programme, between five and eight business founder teams will have the opportunity to implement their business ideas with established companies and foster their growth.
Yvonne Plaschnick, the A² project manager, was very happy with how the Pitching Day went: “Everybody was very well prepared. The start-ups made excellent use of their five-minute presentation time and showcased interesting options for collaboration with the industrial partners. The latter are highly critical and have their own ideas about possible pilot projects. We are looking forward to the next round of talks.” The project agreements must be signed by 13 July, then the A² programme launches in August 2018.
