Center for IT and media ZIM 3
The acoustic camera, the Berlin brain-computer interface (a machine that can read minds) and the robodogs are only some examples made in Adlershof. About a hundred companies with over six hundred personnel, the Humboldt University Departments of Computer Science, Mathematics and Psychology, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Architecture and Software Technology (FIRST) are working on new information and communications technologies (ICTs) in the Adlershof Technology Park. Their work focuses on production technologies, software engineering, ICT in healthcare, ambient intelligence, security technologies, transport, logistics and multimedia. Following the interest of yet more hardware and software enterprises a new Center for IT and media, now the third, is being built at present that will provide over four thousand square metres of utilisable space for these new tenants. Up to 25 new IT-enterprises could work here, in office space starting from 20 square metres. The opening ceremony is planned for April 2011.
