Room 3.25 & on Zoom
When a city is divided into two halves for political reasons, what actually happens to its energy infrastructure?
The DiviCiti project, funded by the DFG between 2020 and 2023, studied how political division has influenced energy infrastructures and shaped energy strategies across the recent histories of Berlin, Jerusalem and Nicosia and what their experiences reveal about conflict and cooperation over urban energy in contested contexts. In this lecture, the Principal Investigator Prof. Timothy Moss will present the main findings for discussion.
Timothy Moss is a member of IRI THESys at HU Berlin and Honorary Professor of the Leibniz University Hannover. His research and teaching are distinctive for connecting historical studies of infrastructure with contemporary debates on sociotechnical and urban transitions.
The event will take place in a hybrid format. The Zoom link is provided on the website of IRI THESys.
