What is Future talks?
Future talks is a new format introduced by the Campus Club Adlershof. Each month, HU and WISTA host informal gatherings with inspiring guests who will share insights into career journeys after the PhD and discuss how the doctoral degree would truly reward all the efforts you’ve put in. Whether you're considering a career in academia or exploring opportunities beyond the academic sphere, this event is for you! Join us for an engaging discussion and gain valuable insights into post-PhD career options.
Featured guests at the upcoming event?
In June’s edition, two fellow PhD candidates from Humboldt-Universität will be our first Future talks guests and will act as peer role models. We will hear their different experiences on how to successfully transition from PhD to a job - in academia and beyond.
- Christian Appelt held his defense in experimental physics in May 2024 and will be starting a PostDoc position at CERN in Geneva.
- Sarah Kleest-Meißner, a Computer Science PhD candidate, will be defending her thesis in September and has applied for a DAAD short-term scholarship for a 6-month postdoctoral stay abroad.
We welcome any questions throughout, and we invite you to remain after the talks, as there will be an opportunity to talk and network over light refreshments.
Registration:
Attendance is free, but registration is required as places are limited to 25 participants. Reserve your spot as soon as possible to secure your place at this insightful event!
